In this 16-part discover your instrument lesson series for children from groups 3 and 4, Kim Schimmel introduces you to the different types of instruments that are taught at Muziekschool Diemen. The teachers from Muziekschool Diemen will come by to show you the instruments. You will try out instruments and can therefore make an easier choice which instrument really suits you. This course follows directly on from the Children's course Music Orientation. But you can also start right away if you have no experience at all. The lessons start in week 3 of 2025 on Monday afternoon between 3:30 PM and 6:00 PM and on Wednesday afternoon between 3:00 PM and 6:15 PM. Preschoolers Musical Adventures (group 1 and 2)

Our teacher Kim Schimmel makes a start with musical education in the course Preschoolers Musical Adventures. Musical contrasts such as high/low & loud/soft are discussed in the cheerful and varied lessons. We will sing, play instruments, dance and move and thus stimulate not only musical, but also motor, social and language/speech development. The fixed structure in the lessons offers the children a sense of security. A lot of work is done with themes within the experience of the young child and the imagination is also stimulated with music lessons in the form of stories about, for example, animals and means of transport. The groups are not too large so that a safe, personal learning environment is created. Parents are invited several times during the season for an open lesson or an informal performance. Preschoolers Musical Adventures is given on Mondays between 15:30 and 18:00 and on Wednesdays between 15:00 and 18:15 in the Omval. These lessons are intended for children in groups 1 and 2 and take place without parents. (Of course, they may stay with the children in the first lesson(s) if necessary to let them get used to it.) Preschoolers musical adventures has 2x16 lessons of 45 minutes each. One which starts in de week of the 9th of September 2024 and one which starts in the week of 13 January 2025. Toddler Music (8 months – 4 years)

With this course for (grand)parent/caregiver and child (8 months-4 years) you will do your child and yourself a great favour! The fun lessons will soon become precious weekly moments in which you see your child enjoying and learning in safe proximity. After all, the two are inextricably linked. We will sing, move, dance and play instruments and pay attention to the four seasons and other appealing themes in a playful way. The sophisticated lesson activities stimulate musical, but also motor, social-emotional and language/speech development. The participants receive the songs from the lessons in a special booklet to take home so that they can go over everything again! Most of the songs can now also be listened to online. Teacher Judith has completed the recognized post-HBO training Muziek op Schoot and is a certified teacher. There are 3 courses throughout the season, divided over 11 lessons of 45 minutes each on Friday mornings (lesson time 9:00, 10:00 or 11:00 depending on the age of the child) in groups of 8 little ones and 8 (grand)parents/caregivers. The lessons are led by Judith Sijp and take place in the Omval in room 2.1. The costs are € 103,- per course of 11 lessons. The lessons are suitable for pupils from 8 months to 4 years old. One (grand)parent/caregiver must also be present. Music Orientation (Group 3 and 4)

Kim Schimmel gives varied courses in which children lay a valuable foundation for their further musical development. Music Orientation is mainly aimed at the very beginning and everyone from group 3 and 4. Music theoretical subjects such as notation, measure & rhythm, are alternated and combined with singing, playing instruments, listening games and movement. Different music styles are used. The course focuses on cheerfulness and stimulation of social development. This is done by learning to listen to each other, playing together and moving. In addition, after taking these lessons, students have priority for placement within the regular lesson offer in the following season. The Music orientation lessons will be at: Monday afternoons between 15:30 and 18:00 and on Wednesday afternoons between 15:00 and 18:15. The exact times will be announced later. The lessons are given in room 2.1 of Theater de Omval. There are 16 lessons of 45 minutes each. The costs are €149. The lessons will start in the week of the 9th of September 2024.
