Kim Schimmel gives varied courses in which children lay a valuable foundation for their further musical development. Music Orientation is mainly aimed at the very beginning and everyone from group 3 and 4. Music theoretical subjects such as notation, measure & rhythm, are alternated and combined with singing, playing instruments, listening games and movement. Different music styles are used. The course focuses on cheerfulness and stimulation of social development. This is done by learning to listen to each other, playing together and moving. In addition, after taking these lessons, students have priority for placement within the regular lesson offer in the following season. The Music orientation lessons will be at: Monday afternoons between 15:30 and 18:00 and on Wednesday afternoons between 15:00 and 18:15. The exact times will be announced later. The lessons are given in room 2.1 of Theater de Omval. There are 16 lessons of 45 minutes each. The costs are €149. The lessons have already started in September 2024. You can sign up via the form. Our teacher Kim Schimmel makes a start with musical education in the course Preschoolers Musical Adventures. Musical contrasts such as high/low & loud/soft are discussed in the cheerful and varied lessons. We will sing, play instruments, dance and move and thus stimulate not only musical, but also motor, social and language/speech development. The fixed structure in the lessons offers the children a sense of security. A lot of work is done with themes within the experience of the young child and the imagination is also stimulated with music lessons in the form of stories about, for example, animals and means of transport. The groups are not too large so that a safe, personal learning environment is created. Parents are invited several times during the season for an open lesson or an informal performance. Preschoolers Musical Adventures is given on Mondays between 15:30 and 18:00 and on Wednesdays between 15:00 and 18:15 in the Omval. These lessons are intended for children in groups 1 and 2 and take place without parents. (Of course, they may stay with the children in the first lesson(s) if necessary to let them get used to it.) Singing comes naturally to children. Even before we learn to speak, children make sounds and use their voices—it’s part of who we are. In this course for children aged 5 to 8, singing is at the heart of everything we do. Under the guidance of Anna B. Kramer, children explore different singing styles, recite rhythmic poems, clap rhythms, and move to music. This not only fosters musical development, but also stimulates the brain and encourages children to play and listen together. Lessons take place on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:15 PM in Studio 2.10 at De Omval. The course consists of 16 lessons of 45 minutes each and costs €155.
